We frequently receive inquiries from our valued customers regarding sizing recommendations. Modestly aims to be inclusive hence we offer two size categories to accommodate various body types.

Our collection features standard size abayas designed for individuals up to UK size 18, as well as plus-size abayas tailored for those ranging from UK size 20 to 30.

The standard size abaya is designed to comfortably accommodate individuals up to UK size 18, ensuring a comfortable fit. However please be wary that , the standard abaya increases in size by its width with each size up in height. Please see table for standard sizes below for reference and further information.

For instance, if your bust size measures 48”, but you are shorter in height, you may encounter challenges with a standard size 60 abaya falling too long on you. It is essential to be mindful of these nuances when selecting the right size for your body type.

The plus-size abayas at MODESTLY is designed to cater to UK sizes 20 to 30, ensuring a loose and comfortable fit for women within this range. The bust size for plus size abayas is 60 inches and it remains the same as each height increases. So you will not encounter the same problems as you would with standard abayas.

How to measure which height will be the right length for me?

Our abaya sizes are in height order which range from 50(plus size only), 52, 54 ,56 ,58 ,60.

These numbers are the inches for the length of the abaya. To measure where the abaya length will be on you, you will need a measuring tape (use the inches side), extra person to assist in measuring & to note down measurements. Lastly, standing in a front of a mirror will help you visualise the length, so it may be useful to use a mirror.

Start by placing the start of the measuring tape at the top of your shoulder ( do not look down, instead look in the mirror and get the second person to assist you here) and jot down the measurements where you would like the abaya length to sit. Whether you would like the tape to be sitting at your ankle or at the feet. This is what the length of the abaya will be.

For an example:

Zoya would like her abaya to cover her feet so when she walks her abaya wouldn’t rise up. Upon measuring she notices the length 52 inches falls next to her ankle and she would like to cover her feet. She would need to buy another size up. Which would be 54.
